In 1888, the first steam trains pulled into Geebung Station and a neighbourhood began to gather around the tracks. More than a century on, we take our name from that year, a nod to the heritage line that still runs past our door and the community that grew alongside it.
Our kitchen brings the warmth of Vietnamese cooking to the corner cafe: fragrant phin-brewed coffee, sizzling bò né, and all-day breakfasts made from scratch. The phin filter in our badge sits where a locomotive's smokestack would, two traditions and one steam.
We're a local place, first and always. No franchise playbook and no rush, just good coffee, honest food, and a friendly stop for anyone stepping off the 6am train or wandering in on a slow Sunday. Pull up a chair; you're on Platform 1888 time now.
